About Dr. Sharma
Patients tend to describe Dr. Sid Sharma in superlatives — one called him a miracle worker — but the through-line in his work is more practical than that: getting people back on their feet, often after other treatments have failed. He is a foot and ankle surgeon treating heel pain, bunions, fractures, tendon injuries and chronic wounds, with a particular depth in wound healing and regenerative treatments such as platelet-rich plasma.
Dr. Sharma completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital, later returning as a site director for that residency program. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and of the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Foot & Ankle Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine, and serves as Chief of Foot & Ankle at SurgiCore. He has published widely on diabetic foot ulcers and wound care. He sees patients in Manhattan, Kew Gardens, New Rochelle and New Hyde Park.
