About Dr. Kalter
Dr. Matthew Kalter treats pain without surgery. He is double board certified in pain medicine and in physical medicine and rehabilitation, and his practice centres on image-guided injections, epidurals and nerve blocks for back, neck and joint pain — often for people who have already been through a surgery that did not fully work. One patient wrote that she arrived at his office in tears after a failed spinal operation and has been under his care ever since.
Dr. Kalter is the medical director of MK Spine & Joint Rehab and previously spent nearly a decade as an attending physiatrist and pain management physician with Suffolk Orthopedic Associates. He earned his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine, completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Stony Brook, and finished a pain management fellowship at the Center for Pain Medicine and Rehabilitation in Annapolis. He has been named a Patients’ Choice Award winner three times and one of America’s Top Physicians. He sees patients in Kew Gardens and New Hyde Park.
